Welcome to Insulation Rebates
Australian Government Announces Home Insulation Rebate
The Rudd Government has announced a ceiling insulation scheme that aims to insulate millions of Australian homes to promote a low carbon future and stimulate jobs during the recession.
Tradespeople and employees of the insulation manufacturing, distribution and installation industry will directly benifit.
The govenrment recognises that our existing housing stock (more than one year old) makes up 98% of all our houses at any one time. Many of these houses (around 40%) do not have adequate insulation, making them exsessive users of energy resources and generally uncomfortable for the occupants.
Taking advantage of the package is easy and will enable housholders to save up to $200 annually on energy costs and will reduce our nation's greenhouse gas emmissions by around 49.4 million tonnes by 2020.
Installing ceiling insulation is the most economical and efficient way of saving significant amounts of energy. Most houses are easy to retrofit with ceiling insulation and even houses that have existing insulation may benifit from additional roof insulation. Insulated homes will be more comfortable to live in and the resale value will be improved.
In the near future, all Australian houses will have to advertise their energy rating when selling, so an uninsulated house will soon deter potential buyers. With the help of this Government package, most Austrlian homes will be able to achieve a minimum of two star energy efficency.
So it is important to take advantage of this offer while it is available to future proof your home.
